A GLIMPSE OF KEFALOS
Kefalos is a village at
the Southern end of the island, about 18
kilometres from Mastihari and it is worth
mentioning on its own. The old village of
Kefalos on the top of the hill has managed
to remain largely unchanged and for those of
you who are interested in seeing the other
side of Kos, I think you will be fascinated
by what you see here. A few years ago, I met
a lady who still lives in a totally
traditional Greek cottage. She has no
electricity, no telephone, no indoor
plumbing, non of the things that we take for
granted. Her name is Dionisia and she will
welcome you into her home like a friend.
Here are some photo's of Dionisia and her
home.

If you care to, I can
take you to visit her to see how she lives
and experience Greek hospitality at its very
best.
After, we can go on a
wander the narrow streets of the village and
see sights like the following photo's.

I hope, if nothing else,
that these images whet your appetite to get
out and about (with or without me!) and see
a different side of Kos. A side, whch I am
sure, you will find fascinating and probably
unexpected for this island. I have no doubt
whatsoever, that seeing and experiencing the
other side of life here will only make you
enjoy your holiday that much more.
......something to
capture the imagination
