'MAKIS' FISH TAVERNA

Opened in 1975, 'Makis' is one of the best know fish tavernas on Kos, and how lucky we all are that is in Mastihari. Frequented by locals from all over the island, you can be sure of good food.

Makis and his family along with their local staff will make you feel incredibly welcome to the taverna.

The taverna is situated one street behind the main harbour road running out of the village and offers you excellent service in pleasant surroundings whilst you enjoy the freshest fish and sea-food imaginable.

In case you are not aware, the way to choose what fish you would like to eat is not that which we are generally used to! You will be invited into the kitchen to see what the days catch brought in and you decide which fish you want. They will be weighed, cleaned and cooked over a charcoal grill. Fresh fish is always priced by the kilo, even in the tavernas.

Whilst specialising in fresh fish and sea-food, if one of your party is not a fish lover - no problem, as Makis also offers a wide selection of fresh salads and grilled meats. In any case, you will be served beautiful char-grilled bread drizzled with olive oil and origano!!

Go and try it. It is a different eating experience, and one which you will surely enjoy!
